Nationwide praise for Ellen DeGeneres has grown exponentially as the talk show host has endured criticism over her new appointment as spokesperson for JCPenney. Local entertainer Catia Lee Love along with Oklahomans for Equality is organizing a "Pink Dollar Day".

On Friday February 24th, 2012 in Tulsa Oklahoma OkEq is calling a "Pink Dollar Day" at all JCPenney stores in Tulsa County. Wear pink as you stroll the aisles of the store as part of an overall effort to back the Texas-based chain's decision to stand behind DeGeneres. Write the letter "E" on your money and credit card slips of all purchases to show you are a part of the "Pink Dollar Day".

As for DeGeneres, she took to her talk show last week to address the controversy, thanking her supporters. "Here are the values I stand for: I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you'd want to be treated and helping those in need," she said. "To me, those are traditional values. That's what I stand for."

Walmart Stores/Supercenters USA: Sell more American made products.

With increasing unemployment and the loss of American manufacturing jobs companies like Walmart should make a stronger commitment in buying and selling more American goods. As one of the United States' largest employers it should be known for selling more American products.
With a U.S. record trade deficit with China of over $260 billion dollars a year Walmart is said to acount for over 11% of that. Some say that speaks for the loss of hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs.
I ask that Walmart do the right thing. Set an American business standard that a American company supports American workers. Please increase the amount of American made products and lower the amount of those products from countries that use almost slave labor.
