Military Readiness Enhancement Act (H.R. 1283) REPEAL DADT

Make your voice heard!

Tell your members of Congress to stand up for repeal and co-sponsor the Military Readiness Enhancement Act (H.R. 1283) – the bill to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and replace it with a policy of non-..discrimination... It is so important that we keep up the pressure on our legislators. Our voices can make the difference in the fight to get rid of this discriminatory law once and for all.

Who's Paying to Kill Health Reform

LobbyBlog

Ever wonder how everyone you talk to wants health care reform, but yet all you hear on the news or if you attend a town hall meeting, is how people are scared for change?

well this article sure explains alot. If your a Rachel Maddow fan then you probably have already been through some of this info. But basically its showing the crazy ways that the system is being screwed or unscrewed, and how some Republicans and big insurance are gaming the public, media and our elected officials.

On another note, talking about Health Care Reform it's hard not to think about Ted Kennedy, who past away this week. He had worked for so many years to affect change, in so many areas like civil liberties, and especially in regards to the Health of the nations peoples. With his passing I have hope that many would be super charged on the "cause of his life" and pass NOW real reform.

listen below, just a couple of months ago Edward Kennedy speaking with the President. Kennedy starts at about 7min into the clip.

Interesting ideas about immune response. Suppressing your immune system a good thing? It seems we are learning that maybe we should start to think differently of the plant that George Washington among others advocated for its mainstay as a cash crop. Now it seems more and more beneficial as an inexpensive medicine for a number of different illness. Your thoughts?

Amsterdam sends a gay-marriage message to America

Amsterdam sends a gay-marriage message to America

The dual nature of marriage — the reality that it can be both a civil act and also a religious one for those who choose it to be — is so ingrained into our consciousness that most of us fail to notice the distinction of those two elements. Yet the law and many religions have always differed when it comes to how they treat marriage. For example, the law allows divorce but Catholicism has its own ways of annulment. Legally, the law prevails. Likewise some couples elect to have only a church wedding but not a civil one in order to keep their legal and property affairs separate. Again the law prevails over the particulars of the religion. And of course virtually all jurisdictions require the civil licensing of a marriage in order for it to be legally honored.
